Getting Started with Tawala

Welcome to Tawala! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and making your first sale.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Visit portal.tawala.co.tz
  2. Click "Get Started"
  3. Enter your business name, email, and phone
  4. Verify your phone number via SMS
  5. Set your password

Step 2: Set Up Your Business

  1. Add your business details (TIN, address)
  2. Upload your logo (optional)
  3. Set your default currency and tax settings
  4. Add your bank/mobile money details for payments

Step 3: Add Products

  1. Go to Products → Add New
  2. Enter product name and description
  3. Set selling price and cost price
  4. Add barcode if available
  5. Set initial stock quantity
  6. Save and repeat for all products

Step 4: Configure VFD (Optional)

If you need TRA compliance:

  1. Get your VFD certificate from TRA
  2. Go to Settings → TRA VFD
  3. Upload certificate and enter password
  4. Test connection

Step 5: Make Your First Sale

  1. Go to POS (Point of Sale)
  2. Search or scan products to add
  3. Adjust quantities if needed
  4. Click Pay
  5. Select payment method
  6. Print or send receipt
