Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) charges per-person daily entry fees + vehicle entry fees + VAT 18% on all park visits. Premium parks (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Kilimanjaro) cost more than the Southern Circuit (Ruaha, Mikumi, Selous/Nyerere). Most operators bundle these into the daily rate, but it helps to know what's actually being charged.

  • Climbing — Kilimanjaro (USD 70/day for the climb).

  • Western Circuit — Mahale (chimps), Gombe, Katavi. USD 30–100/day; remote and flight-only.

Special charges

  • Ngorongoro Crater service fee — additional USD 295 per vehicle for the descent (one descent per day).
  • Vehicle entry — USD 40–200/day by weight class.
  • Camping fees — USD 30–50/person/night (special campsites higher).
  • Walking safari — USD 25/person/walk.
  • Night drive — USD 50/person.
  • Concession fee — selected lodges; USD 50–80/person/night.
