What is the TBC licence?

The TBC (Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation) annual licence is a small fee paid by households and businesses that operate TV or radio receivers. It funds public-service broadcasting. The fee is collected with the help of TANESCO (electricity) bills in some areas, and directly via authorised agents in others.
