What Fleet looks like in practice

Illustrative scenarios drawn from the operations Tawala Fleet is designed to support. Named customer case studies will be published as customers sign off.

"Per-vehicle P&L is the only way to find out which trucks actually make money. The standalone tracker tells you where the truck is — Tawala tells you whether it should still be on your books."

C

Construction-supplies operator

Arusha · 10–15 truck fleet

"Fuel anomaly alerts catch the patterns drivers think nobody notices: off-route fuel stops, consumption spikes, the same station appearing twice. That is where the savings come from."

F

Fleet supervisor

LNG corridor · Mtwara

"Cross-border means fuel in one currency, tolls in another, repairs in a third. Recording each in its native currency and reconciling FX at month-end is the only sane way to keep the books straight."

Why Tawala

Fleet software that closes the books, not just tracks the trucks

GPS trackers are necessary but not sufficient. Tawala is the operations + finance layer on top: cost ledger per vehicle, driver payroll, multi-currency, TRA-VFD invoicing for transport jobs.

Per-vehicle P&L

Revenue − costs for each truck. Standalone trackers can't tell you this.

TRA VFD on transport jobs

Invoice your customer for the trip. Fiscal receipt to TRA in real time.

Multi-currency

TZS, KES, UGX, RWF, USD — record fuel + tolls in their native currency.

Tanzanian support

FAQ

Common questions

I already have a GPS tracker. Can I keep it?

Yes — Tawala pairs with any major Tanzanian GPS tracker brand. We keep your tracker; we add the operations + finance layer on top.

How does fuel reconciliation work?

Drivers log fuel through the mobile app (litres + station + amount + photo of receipt). Fuel cards reconcile against monthly statements. Anomalies (consumption spikes, unusual stations, off-route fuel) trigger alerts.

Does it work on small fleets too?

Yes. Tawala handles a 2-vehicle owner-operator just as well as a 100-vehicle fleet. Pricing scales with vehicle count.

How does it handle workshop / mechanic costs?

Each maintenance job creates a ticket linked to the vehicle. Parts come from inventory; labour from the workshop staff timesheet. Cost auto-posts to the vehicle ledger.

What about driver allowances and per-diems?

Configurable per-trip allowances flow into payroll. NSSF / PAYE / WCF compute correctly. Per diems are tracked separately for tax-deductibility.

Can the system handle leased vehicles vs owned?

Yes — vehicles flag as Owned, Leased, or Subcontracted. Lease costs auto-post to the right account; owned vehicles depreciate per your schedule.

How long does it take to set up?

Most fleets are live in 5 business days, including vehicle import, driver setup, and tracker integration.

Is there a free trial?

14 days, full access. No credit card required.

Stop guessing which trucks make money
